We have an exciting opportunity for a driven and passionate Employment Coordinator to help drive initiatives outlined in the University’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce strategy and contribute to the delivery of workforce targets under Swinburne University’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
Together with the Director of Indigenous Engagement, you will manage talent acquisition and retention programs and initiatives that support Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander employment outcomes. In this position you will work across the P&C team and form strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the University, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
This is a Targeted position and an affirmative measure therefore only open to applicants of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage in accordance with an exemption granted under section 12 of the Vic – Equal Opportunity Act 2010. This is a recruitment strategy to increase Swinburne’s Aboriginal workforce.
About You??
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:?
- Assist in the development, implementation and tracking of Reconciliation Action Plan employment and cultural competency targets with support from Diversity and Inclusion Manager
- Provide guidance in identifying positions that can be advertised for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates only
- Support the recruitment process by working with P&C to advise on advertising (ensuring this is culturally safe and accessible), and supporting candidates with the application and onboarding process
- Collaborate with the P&C Organisational Development team, to provide advice to employees and managers on professional development processes, resources and programs which support the career advancement of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander employees, including the establishment and management of graduate programs and traineeships as appropriate.
- Coordinate the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff network meetings.
A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
